ABOUT NINA Baxter

Our garden design service started when Nina met Matthew in 1997 when they were part of the team who opened Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on London’s Bankside.

After nurturing a life-long love of horticulture, in 2001 they decided to take the plunge and make it their business. Nina spent the next three years gaining professional qualifications in Horticulture, Plantsmanship and Garden Design from the Royal Horticultural Society and the English Gardening School. In 2004 they launched Nina Baxter Garden Design together.

Show gardens

As well as designing gardens across south-east London, Kent, and Surrey, Nina has been lucky enough to work with internationally-renowned designers on award-winning gardens at RHS flower shows including Chelsea, Tatton Park and Hampton Court.

Between 2007 and 2010, Nina worked on show gardens for Andy Sturgeon, Chris Beardshaw and Paul Hervey-Brookes and in 2011 she formed a lasting working relationship with Jo Thompson as head of Jo’s planting team, that continues to this day.

Nina is now an RHS Show Judge, judging show gardens at the RHS flagship flower shows.
