What we do

WHAT WE DO

Walking through each step

Don’t worry if you’ve never had a garden designed before. We’re here to walk you through every step of the process. Here’s an overview of our approach, from the very first time we come and take a look at your garden, to when we put the finishing touches to your transformed space.

The initial visit gives you an opportunity to meet Nina, and for her to see the site and get a feel for your needs, choices and style.

Nina will then arrange a mutually convenient time to visit you for the consultation. A checklist helps to ensure everything needed for a thorough garden design brief is covered. This meeting is your chance to discuss all your requirements, aspirations, likes and dislikes.

Nina and Matthew will carry out a site survey and analysis. A full set of measurements will be taken of your garden, taking into account any existing features that are to remain. On larger projects, or sites with more complex level changes, we recommend the use of a professional surveyor and we can arrange this for you.

Nina will present a set of drawings to communicate her design ideas and proposals for your garden. These, along with a virtual 3D model and a mood-board, will help you understand how the finished space will look and feel. Choices of materials, garden features and style of planting will also be covered at this meeting.

Nina’s goal is not only to meet all your requirements, but also to push the boundaries a little and hopefully exceed your expectations by expanding how you see the potential of your space, notwithstanding the restrictions of your budget.

Nina will make any required changes to the plans to allow the design to be signed off.  At this point she will also create a specification document and setting out plan to allow contractors to quote for the landscaping work.  If more detailed construction drawings are required, these can also be created.

Garden Landscaping and Project Monitoring

Once the design is finalised, Nina and Matthew can continue to help by overseeing the build of the garden; arranging for trusted professional landscapers to quote; providing site visits to check the design is being correctly implemented and being on hand to answer any design queries for the duration of the project.

Plant sourcing and planting

If we go on to plant up the garden for you, we will provide detailed plant palettes and individual planting schemes that take into account the specific conditions of your garden.  We source all the plants we use in our designs from specialist nurseries and suppliers with whom we have long-standing relationships. We oversee deliveries of plants to site and often travel far afield to pick out the best specimens.
